Coronation Street

Eileen finally discovers the truth about Jan being an informant for the police in what should have been a really interesting and enlightening plot was actually overly complicated and not very interesting at all.

Caught up in yet more lies between oblivious Vicky and Michelle, Robert finds himself tangled up with Jed, who has broken into his car and stolen Michelle’s engagement ring as leverage.  Robert then has to report the ring missing but gets wrapped up in even more lies as he fibs about the circumstances.  Jed then follows him to Coronation Street, making it clear that he wants to be paid off for keeping quiet.  Honestly, I don’t know what is up with Coronation Street at the moment but it really is dragging out some tired stories at the moment.

Tyrone is horrified to realise that he has forgotten to enrol Hope alongside Ruby at the school and now there are no more spaces left.  Determined to fight her granddaughter’s cause, Evelyn stages a protest at the school, just as Fiz returns and discovers what is going on.

Shona is horrified to realise that she has missed Kylie’s birthday (thanks for the heads up, David – she was your wife) and that is likely to be the reason that Max has been acting out.  You know, along with his Dad being dead, his step-dad being in prison, thanks to his uncle, not taking his ADHD medication…

Geoff continues to manipulate Yasmeen and Dev has to ask Mary to move out.  Emma spends the day with Amy but is still determined to have nothing to do with Steve.  However, privately, she begins to soften.

(Doctors is on its summer break)

Eastenders

With injured Hunter having turned up needing help, Mel positions herself to support Sharon at an appointment.  There, she causes a ridiculous scene in order to steal pain medication for Hunter involving the rather imaginative use of a fish tank.  Yes, really!  Ben is quickly on her tail and uses his guess about Hunter’s whereabouts to pressure her to help him find Lisa, believing that that will help him find Louise and put him back in Phil’s good books.

Whitney is confused when she finds the letters from Chris to his sister about Callum but cannot work out exactly what they mean.  Stuart abducts Ben before Callum’s stag night in a bid to keep him away but this only prompts Callum to leave the event to rescue him.  After an argument and then a heart to heart, Callum interrupts Whitney’s hen night to confess – he has cheated on her with Ben.  After a heart to heart with repentant Callum and a confrontation with Ben, Whitney decides to go ahead with the wedding anyway.

Emmerdale

It’s tragic Frank’s funeral and there isn’t the turnout that he deserves.  Even of those that attend, most of them wrongly believe that he was responsible for the fire, including Vanessa, his own daughter.  However, with the engagement ring as evidence, Tracey and Megan are adamant that the man they adore was innocent.  While Tracey gives a passionate and beautiful eulogy, Megan later takes to the lectern and gives a speech, delivering some harsh home truths.

Liv has a seizure, worrying her friends and family.

Ollie finally bonds with baby DJ but Brooke is struggling with her pregnancy secret.  Ollie confides in Cindy about DJ’s true paternity but manages to persuade her to keep it a secret, even when Luke is suddenly released from prison.  But while Luke is determined to get back together with Mandy, he has no qualms with having a one night stand with Cindy as well.

Tony accuses Sylver of murdering Harry but realising he is wrong, he puts the pieces of the puzzle together a realises that the serial killer is actually Breda.  Unfortunately, when he confronts her, she gets the upper hand and stabs him.  In possibly the most awful moment in soap opera history, it looks as if Tony Hutchinson, the Ian Beale of Hollyoaks might possibly have died at the hands of a serial killer on a random Wednesday evening in the pouring rain.  He sees his life in the village flash before his eyes, including images of Kurt and his baby, Grace.  Then he sees Harry, seemingly calling him into Heaven.

While his friends are worried about him, Diane is adamant that he has walked out on her again and is quick to give up on him.  Breda compounds it by concocting a story, complete with letters, of an affair.

Cleo is anxious to realise that she will be older than a lot of people on her nursing course, including Peri.
